Font Question

Is there a font that has the a and the e intertwinned?

I know I have seen this in older books - where the a and e in words such as paeony connect. I am wondering if there a specfic font this would occur in...

Cool! That is the neatest typography word I've heard since pilcrow!

It used to be a letter in Old English, named “ash” because the initial sound of that word was written with it, among other words. In Old English the “sh” sound was usually written “sc”, so you have “æsc”.

It's still a separate letter in Danish, Norwegian, Icelandic, and Faroese, among other languages.
